Position Title Principal Systems Engineer - Armour Fighting Vehicle Mission Fits, Power Systems

Description of Program



We are working on a number programmes in the Tactical C4I and Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) domain space, including Bowman Combat Infrastructure and Platforms (BCIP), C4I Export and FRES.



Purpose of Position;



• To provide systems engineering support to programmes/bids as the need demands.



• The initial position will be on the FRES programme, assisting in the development of the overall system solution and specifying vehicle, electronic architecture and other on and off platform subsystems.



Responsibilities;



• Power systems subject matter expert.



• Specification, design and development of the power system solutions.



• Costing power systems solutions.



• Inputs to bids/proposals, covering power systems aspects.



• Power systems support to the Utility Vehicle Designer, subcontractors and suppliers.



The power system will generate and supply electrical power required to support the vehicle systems.



Education/Experience;



• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or IT or equivalent experience.



• Background in design and development of systems for military land vehicle platforms or similar.



• Knowledge/understanding of requirements/architecture/technology/products associated with vehicle power systems.



• Systems engineering process, including requirements management, systems analysis/design, system integration and test.



• Systems engineering tools/methodologies, including: requirements management tools (DOORS desirable), system design tools (MODAF/UML/ARTISAN desirable).



• Preparation of systems documentation, including system requirement specifications, system architecture specifications, system design specifications, system test plans, system test specifications.



• Preparation of bids/technical proposals.



• Prime contract management



• Ability to think at the systems level.



• Self motivated



• Ability to work within a team



• Ability/flexibility to support all stages of the systems engineering/project life-cycle



• Excellent English communication skills (oral, written, presentational), organizational skills, analyses and decision making skills, good interpersonal skills, sense of responsibility.



• Use of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
