RESIDENT ENGINEER
The Resident Engineer is responsible for the supervision of the quality of the work executed by the Contractor.
- Ensure that a high level of technical and administrative supervision is developed and maintained, so that the Contractors' works are of the standard required by the Contract
- Ensure that the quality and execution of the works is in accordance with the contract
- Communicate with the Contractors in all matters related to the quality of the executed work
- Monitor and comment on the Contractors own supervision
- Ensure that all required testing and external approvals are executed / obtained by the Contractor
- Co-ordinate the daily supervision with the Contractor
- Ensure that the Contractors testing facilities are adequately maintained and operated
- Control and manage the day to day activities of the Site Engineers and Inspectors
- Ensure that everyone is aware of potential problem areas
- Co-ordinate with the Construction Manager on a daily basis
- Inform the Construction Manager of all required deviations from the project revealed during site operations
- Ensure that the work is executed in compliance with the latest approved documents
- Investigate report and advice on unusual circumstances that may arise during construction
- Report on manpower shortcomings in relation to inspection work
- Participate in Technical Meetings with the Contractor
