Our client, a prestigious precision engineering company based in Wolverhampton, are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen their existing team.

Responsibilities:
- generation of documentation within the production design office including, but not limited to, drawings, parts lists, DOPR's and DOIN's to ensure project deadlines set both internally and externally are met.
- undertake component stress calculations and compile documented calculation packages for third party verification.
- produce equipment test specifications for use in house and onboard ship.
- liaison with Design Engineers to ensure design specifications are met.
- assistance with other departments notably Purchasing, Production, Project Management and Quality Assurance.
- Identification of any improvement to working practices in the production design department.
- contribution to the completion and implementation of concessions and alterations/ amendments to drawings.
- bid support, travel for technical input, customer liaison, input to sales proposals.
- participation in, and contribution to, design reviews, contract reviews and other project-related activities.
- attendance at technical meetings (UK and OVERSEAS).
- liaison with Service Engineers and assistance with customer queries and problems.

The ideal candidate will have experience using Autocad, Inventor and MS Office. You must be flexible in respect to travelling as part of the role and keen to develop your career.
