Our client, a prestigious precision engineering company, are looking to appoint a Project/ Test Engineer. You will be trained/ qualified in a recognised mechanical/ hydraulic engineering discipline plus:
- can demonstrate proven hands on Working knowledge of workshop techniques
- able to work on own initiative
- have a good understanding of safe working practices
You will require good interpersonal skills in order to communicate at all levels. Computer literacy is a must including a working knowledge of Autocad and MS Office and experience in hydraulic or electrical control systems would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:
- generation of documentation within the production design office including, but not limited to, drawings, parts lists, DOPR's and DOIN's to ensure project deadlines set both internally and externally are met.
- produce equipment test specifications for use in house and onboard ship.
- liaison with other Design Engineers to ensure design specifications are met.
- liaise with other departments notably Purchasing, Production, Project Management and Quality Assurance with test equipment procurement, layout.
- identification of any improvement to working practices in the production design.
- contribution to the completion and implementation of concessions and alterations/ amendments to drawings.
- bid support, travel for technical input, customer liaison, input in the sales proposals.
- participation in, and contribution to, design reviews, contract reviews and other project-related activities.
- attendance at technical meetings (UK and OVERSEAS)
- liaison with Service Engineers and assistance with customer queries and problems.
